This smart, detached property, built in 1995 with traditional, part-timbered façade, is set in a sunny, peaceful position amid farmland and wooded hills, about 20m away from the holiday home of the owners from which it is well-screened. It is a beautifully presented cottage, all newly fitted and equipped to a high standard, with comfort and practicality assured by the quality traditional-style furniture, fitted kitchen and en-suite bathrooms. While spacious, light and airy, the house has touches of country character in beams, glazed fireplace and tiled floors, creating a homely atmosphere. French windows lead on to the partly sloping grassy rear garden (with built-in barbecue), which is secluded and peaceful with extensive views over forested hills. The very friendly British owners often stay at their holiday home and they, or their local representative, will welcome all visitors. The property is situated in a beautiful part of Normandy, very close to the fashionable seaside resort of Deauville which, as well as its lovely beaches and attractive boutiques, boasts a splendid racecourse. The Landing Beaches make perfect day trips for those interested in history and for food enthusiasts the choice of visits is just as varied: the route du Fromage and the route du Cidre, as well as visiting a Calvados distillery. Further afield, Caen and its musée de Normandie, and Bayeux, famous for its amazing tapestry, are all within easy reach. Note: access is via a narrow, very rough track approx. 500m long. A stream occasionally runs at the bottom of the garden, so young children would have to be supervised.
