Domaine Belle Vue is a 3-bedroomed cottage, sleeping 7 (+ baby), in a rural situation 1km from the village of Le Thoronet (Var), 9km SW of Lourges, 16km WNW of Vidauban, 48km NW of St Tropez (Michelin map 527). VFB is delighted to feature this property for the first time in 2010. Saturday arrival.

This charming 18th-century mas, with its attractive free-form swimming pool, has been entirely renovated and sits in a private estate of some 25 acres overlooking the owners' vineyard. Conveniently situated a short distance from Vidauban, the wonderful beaches lining the Côte d'Azur are within an hour's drive. An unusual property, offering a traditional interior with a low ceiling downstairs, exposed beams and tiled floors, the house is well equipped and even includes your own bar area! Outdoor living is fantastic, most notably the large terrace guarded by two enormous plane trees which ensure a delighfully shaded spot for meals alfresco, while on a lower level is the large swimming pool. The English owners live in an independent part of the mas with their friendly dogs. The Var region is rich in activities for all ages. Keen golfers will appreciate the 14 courses available, including a 100-year old course in St Raphaël. Fréjust, Ste-Maxime and St-Tropez are all reached in an hour therefore days can be spent lazing on the beach or enjoying a host of watersports. 6km from the property lies a magnificent Cistercian abbey, built in the 12th century and now converted into a museum.
