A breakage deposit of 125€ is payable uponal arrival. This will be returned on the morning of departure (less charges for items not included in the price), provided there have been no breakages and the property is left in good order. The owners may, at their discretion, make a minimum deduction of 50€ from the deposit if the property is not left in good order.
Household linen is available and chargeable. One set costs 20€ for two people and 5€ for each additional person. One hand towel, one bath towel and one flannel per person, plus two tea towels and two kitchen towels per booking will be provided. Extra sets are not available.
Electricity (electric radiator in each room) is not included and must be paid for on departure.
Gîte Le Moulin pour Ouveillan is a 3-bedroomed cottage, sleeping 6, in the village of Ouveillan (Aude), 16km N of Narbonne, 24km W of Béziers (Michelin maps: 526 / 527). VFB is delighted to have featured this property since 2003. Wednesday arrival.
This detached property within walking distance of the village shops, in a quiet village street in the heart of wine growing country. The impeccable interior, all newly fitted and furnished with smart modern items and much use of pine, is bright and airy, very practical and includes a neat, fitted kitchen, with quality equipment, and prettily decorated bedrooms. The whole adds up to excellent, easy-to-run holiday accommodation. Patio doors open on to the paved terrace (8m x 5m) partly shaded by an old fig tree, and the attractive pool (10m x 5m - depth: 0m90 - 1m40). As this is a village setting, the nearest neighbour (the owner’s cousin) is only some 10m away, but does not overlook the property or the pool. The owners and their two teenage children live in Narbonne where Monsieur works for a bank; they will be responsible for the welcome of all their visitors. Ouveillan is surrounded by the Corbières Minervois vineyards, which can be sampled at the local cave coopérative. Mediaeval Béziers (with its famous féria in August when young bulls are set free in the streets) and the spectacular walled city of Carcassonne are both within easy reach for day trips. The route des Cathars, with its hill-perched castles and villages, offers beautiful journeys through history and architecture.
