This welcoming château, a Relais du Silence hotel, nestles at the heart of a sleepy hamlet that once provided refuge for Roman soldiers travelling on the via Aquitania. Formerly the home of poet Gaston Bonheur, this stylish hotel faces south with views towards Mont Alaric.

ROOMS
Apart from the garden suites, the 21 stylish and air-conditioned bedrooms are divided between the main château and the annexe, 200 yards away. Rooms in the main building are on three floors linked by a sweeping staircase (lift serves first and second floors only). Superior rooms are more spacious and deluxe rooms feature an attractive coin salon.

RESTAURANT
Two dining rooms with contrasting décor set the scene for the well-reputed, refined cuisine, professionally served by a young, enthusiastic team. Dinner is taken on the courtyard terrace in fine weather.
