Price includes: your chosen property on a rental-only basis from 1700 hours on the Wednesday of arrival to 1000 hours on the Wednesday of departure.
Arrival must be by 2000 hours.
Also included: bedlinen (sheets are changed weekly); oil for water heating.
Pets accepted
Small children will require supervision due to both the lake (20m from the house) and the river at the bottom of the garden (60m away).
Any other price related conditions
A breakage deposit of 125€ is payable upon arrival. This will be returned in full if there have been no breakages and the property is left in good order. The owners may, at their discretion, deduct 50€ from the deposit if the property is not left in good order.
Electricity is not included and must be paid for on departure.
Oil central heating during the period from 6 to 26 October 2010 is not included and is charged at the rate of 30€ per week.
Household linen is available and chargeable. One set costs 20€ for two people for 5€ for each additional person. One hand towel, one bath towel and one flannel per person, plus two tea towels and two kitchen towels per booking will be provided. Extra sets are not available.
L'Isclou is a 1-bedroomed apartment, sleeping 2-3 (+ baby), on the outskirts of the village of La Bâtie-Montsaléon (Hautes-Alpes), 6km NE of Serres, 37km SW of Gap (Michelin map: 527). VFB is delighted to have featured this property since 1996. Wednesday arrival.

This is a first floor apartment in the owners’ modern detached house set in a large garden amid peaceful, unspoilt rural surroundings in the sunny southern Alps with enchanting views on to wooded mountains and, north east, to the Pic de Bure, still snow-capped in May. The accommodation is well-equipped, comfortable and impeccably kept with tiled floors throughout and with 30s and 60s furnishings. Facilities for outdoor living are impressive. French windows open on to a south-facing covered balcony (3m x 2m) overlooking the lovely grounds (8000m² in total), which comprise lawns, a variety of trees and a small spring-fed lake beyond which is a glade. Clients may wander the entire grounds at will. An impressive indoor swimming-pool (12m x 5m, depth 1m20 - 2m80), complete with sliding glass doors, is shared with the dynamic and exceptionally welcoming owners: Monsieur is a retired fireman and amateur diver and Madame is an ambulance driver and deputy mayor. They will welcome all visitors to this property and will be happy to give advice about the area since they are also involved in the promotion of tourism. (They have three dogs.) A spectacular region close to the majestic mountain scenery of the southern Alps, with their strong Provençal influence (the Rhône Valley is within easy reach), including the national parks of Vercors and Ecrins, the colourful crossroads town of Gap and the great lake at Embrun beyond. Comfort, tranquillity, views and an enchanting setting.

Accommodation:  All on first floor: open-plan kitchen/dining/ living room (with single sofa bed), 1 double-bedded room, cot, bathroom, separate wc. This property is particularly suited to indoor and out-of-season living, due to a higher than average level of comfort.
