Price includes: your chosen property on a rental-only basis from 1700 hours on the Saturday of arrival to 1000 hours on the Saturday of departure.
Arrival must be by 2000 hours.
Also included: bedlinen (sheets changed weekly); household linen (towels and tea towels); electricity.

Young children will require supervision due to a stream which runs adjacent to the property.

Any other price related conditions
A breakage deposit of 250€ is payable upon arrival. This will be returned on the morning of departure (less charges for items not included in the price), provided there have been no breakages and the property is left in good order. The owners may, at their discretion, make a minimum deduction of 50€ from the deposit if the property is not left in good order.
Oil for central heating is not included and is charged at the rate of 50€ per week which must be paid for on departure.

Situated in the centre of the abbey village of Bassac, close to the banks of the River Charente, this 18th-century traditional farmhouse is bordered by a stream where you can bathe, and has been renovated with style and elegance, whilst retaining many original features - it has been featured recently in two French films. Some rooms in this very comfortable and spacious property have been completely renovated to provide modern facilities, others retain their original charm with antique furniture, open fires, wooden floors and oak beams complemented by a typical Charentaise kitchen and beautiful staircase. The farmhouse occupies a quiet position within a large, enclosed garden, complete with bamboos, palms and fruit trees, with large gates to close the garden on one side and a gated fence giving access to the stream (depth ca 0m80 in summer). There are two restaurants within walking distance and also close at hand are classical music festivals in the summer at the Abbey of Bassac. There are daily markets in Angoulême, Jarnac and Cognac as well as the distilleries to visit, boat trips on the River Charente and the sailing lake at St-Yrieix near Angoulême also offers a complex of swimming pools and children's slides. Seaside beaches are approximately one hour’s drive away.
